Last Class...

Friday, 19th December 2014

Sobs sobs :’(

The very last lecture is today. Time flied too fast until we didn’t realize more than 3 months has passed. This is very sad.

But, lesson has to going on. We learned more about “Control of Microbial Growth” and also a new last topic which is “Antimicrobial Chemotheraphy”. This topic needs us to memorize many things as well. Fuh~ Around another two weeks we will sit the final exam for Microbiology and I don’t sure I can do this. Even when we play quizzes in Kahoot.it , I couldn't answer much. Huarghh HELP ME!!!

Sigh :(

Thursday, 18th December 2014

Today in microbiology class, we learned some calculation which I don’t like it. We calculated number of generation and also generation time.
No. of generation = [ log  no of cells(end) – log no of cells(beginning) ] / 0.301
Generation time = 60 min x hours / no of generation
Dr. Wan also gave us exercise about this part and we have to submit it. I took quite a long time to calculate it hehe. But, I still managed to submit it on time.

Next, we learned a bit about “Control of Microbial Growth”. There are so many terms to remember which I couldn’t imagine how I gonna memorize all that. *Sigh*

A FEW DAYS MORE~

Tuesday, 16th December 2014

Another few days left before this semester end. Hmm...

Today we continued our lesson on isolation/culturing, mantaining and preserving microbes.

Sunday 14 December 2014

New Things and New Terms to Remember :(

Wednesday, 10th December 2014

Today was a replacement class actually and we have it in Biotech 2.2. We moved into a new topic today but before that, as Dr. Wan promised she did a quiz for all of us according to the group. The quiz was based on the topic that we just finished yesterday. My group only get 5 marks out of 10. Hmm it's bad and I didn't helped much at that time :(

So, the new topic was Microbial Growth. I have printed the note and I wondered why the note was so thick? Is it going to be a long and hard topic? When I checked, it was full with pictures of experiment that has been done by our seniors and we also going to do the same experiments later. These help me to get to imagine how the microbiology lab subject will be going on.

Microbial Growth

Growth - refer to number of cell, not the size
Tolerance - survive under condition that they cannot grow

Phile - Specific conditions to grow
Tolerant - conditions which organism survive, but not necessarily grow

Physical requirements -
1) light
2) temperature
3) pH
4) water activity
5) osmotic pressure

Chemical requirements -
1) electron donors
2) electron acceptors
3) micronutrient

We did not finish this chapter yet and will be continue it next week. Besides, Dr. Wan also mentioned about something interesting that I have never heard before.

Here it is!

Red coloured snow
Chlamydomonas nivalis

Hmm... o,o

Tuesday, 9th December 2014

We have class today as usual. We learned about the Microbial Metabolism and Nutrition that we already read it roughly on last Friday. Many parts of these both chapter we have learned in foundation. So, it is not hard to understand them but to memorize...I got little problem with memorizing the lecture notes.

Things that I learned today:

Metabolism (Catabolic and Anabolic reaction)
Enzymes (Oxidoreductase, Transferase, Hydrolase, Lyase, Isomerase, Ligase)
Enzyme component (Apoenzyme, Cofactor, Holoenzyme)
Phosphorylation (Substrate level phosphorylation, Oxidative phosphorylation, Photophosphorylation)

Energy sources (Phototropgs, Chemotrophs)
Carbon sources (Autotrophs, Heterotrophs)
Electron sources (Organotrophs, Lithotrophs)

Besides, Dr. Wan also asked us to find  a few information and study our notes because she wanted to do a games the next day.

YAKULT TOUR :)

8th December 2014

Today was another special day for me and the other Microbiology students. We went to Seremban 2 for a study trip. We started our journey quite late, around 2 pm. We arrived at the Yakult factory after more than one hours in the bus. First, we went into the seminar room which we listed to the staff explainations about Yakult and it's benefits.

Yakult is a probiotic dairy products made by fermenting a mixture of skimmed milk with a special strain of the bacterium Lactobacillus casei Shirota.

Lactobacillus casei Shirota is a bacterium that found in human intestine and mouth. It has a wide pH and temperature range. This type of bacteria also is the most used as probiotics.

Probiotics are microorganisms that provide health benefits when consumed. According to Eli Metchnikoff,"the dependence of the intestinal microbes on the food makes it possible to adopt measures to modify the flora in our bodies and to replace the harmful microbes by useful microbes".

I learned many other things that day such as the benefits of Yakult which are can reduce the risk of getting cancer, give pretty skins, avoid constipation and many more. I also knew another types of bacteria which are Lactobacillus helveticus, Streptococcus thermophilus and Clostridium perfringens.

After that, we went into the factory side where we saw all the machines used to make the Yakult and how the process going on. This is how they produce Yakult there.

HOORAYY !!!

Friday, 5th December 2014

Already the last day for week 11. Another 3 weeks to go before final.
- Reminder for myself -

Today's class we start with eating, as usual hehehe. Amplang, banana snack(?) and traditional kuih(don't remember the name). Then, right from the start Dr. Wan has gave us a work to do. A flashcard. I have make one before. But, this time we made it online by using computer, differ from the others always do. It's very interesting. It is not just a flashcard, but can be change into a quiz form, crossword and even funny games hehe.

After that, we create a quiz for all to answer. my group used proprofs.com to make a crossword puzzle.

We also play the other groups quizzes which have been done using kahoot.it. All of us were very very happy to play it. I never knew that there are such an interesting apps like it that can also be use in a class.

The activities that we have done today actually based on the topics that we will learn, Microbial Metabolism and Microbial Nutrition. There are many many terms that we have to memorize and understand in both topic. So, the flashcards and quizzes we made will help us in studying for the final exam that is just around the corner.

LOOKS LIKE EASY...hiks xD

Tuesday, 2nd December 2014

Bye-bye November, Hye December
Time flies too fast. It's December already. It means I got more works to do. The assignment that need to be submitted..the upcoming final exam..fuhhh breathless.

Today, we have class with Dr. Wan back. Yeayy!!! We learned about classification of microorganism. But before that, I want to show my group video about the NYAWA visit hehehe.

So, back to our lesson. Just quarter of the chapter that we could finish today. What we learned was:

! Taxonomy - classifying microorganism into groups based on
             similarities
           - has three parts - 1) classification (arrangement of
                                  organism into taxon based on
                                  mutual similarities or
                                  evolutionary related)
                               2) identification (process of
                                  discovering and recording the
                                  traits of organism)
                               3) nomenclature (assignment of names
                                  to taxonomic groups in agreement
                                  with published rules)

! This is so important to remember

! Strain is subgroup of species with one or more characteristics
that distinguish it from other subgroups of the same species
  - identify by - name or number or letter follows by specific
                  epithet
  - ways to describe - a) biovars
                       b) morphovars
                       c) serovars

After the class, Dr wan post a question in Edmodo for us to be answered. Here is mine.

New Topics...

Tuesday,25th November 2014

Hallu~ :)

Today's story:

The last class with our dean, Prof. Khaty, we learned a new topic. "The Epidemiology and Public Health Microbiology". It's kinda an interesting topic but there's a thing that I did not like included in it...numbers :'( Before, I think I always heard the term epidemiology and I thought it is a study about skin haha. But it is not. Epidemiology is a science that evaluates occurrence, determinants, distribution and control of health and diseases in a defined human population.

More about epidemiology:

1) Epidemiology
2) Epidemiologist
3) Example of epidemiology - WHO (HIV/AIDS Data and Statistics)

Friday 21 November 2014

I am so naughty~ XD

Friday, 21st November 2014

8.00 o'clock. Replacement class with Dr. Wan. We covered the Virus topic that she didn't teach us before. I understand more about this topic than the last time when I just read the notes to do the mind map hihi. It's really true that we can understand better if we have read what we going to learn before the class. I need to do this next time. Definitely. In sha Allah :)

11.00 o'clock. Microbe class with Prof. Khaty but I didn't attend it hehehe. Actually I wanted to go back home yesterday and skip all the classes for today but my mom didn't allow me. So sad :'( When I was eating after the replacement class, my friend called and told that our schoolmates came to UPM. Then, suddenly I remembered my actual plan. So, I just took a bus and went to K10 to meet my friends. Hehe this is what I always do during foundation whenever I feel stress. I always go back home or go to other universities which I have friends there. But here in UPM, this is the very first time. Instead of going home, I met my friends which make me happy. Arghh!!! I really want to go home now!!! It is a very naughty of me actually to skip a class but at least I can really laugh with them although it's just for a short time...

Blank..Fill It!

Tuesday, 18th November 2014

Today was the the third class with Prof Khaty. We learned about Mutation. Such an interesting topic. We learned what is mutation, types of mutation and how each type of mutation occur. But, I was a bit blur at that time. I have learned a little about this topic during foundation but during the class, I felt like I never heard about it before. I thought I cannot understand professor's language. Prof Khaty was a very experienced person in genetics so yaa..you know hehehe. I was lost and my mind was so blank. I really need to study and fill all the blanks so that I can also answer the incoming Test 2 or otherwise it will be blank as same as my mind today. :D

Saturday 15 November 2014

Yihaa !!!

14 November 2014

I have waited so much for this day. We went to Shah Alam Convention Center (SACC). Yeayy!!! Some of our friends participated in NUCeL 2014 (National University Carnival For e-Learning) which are Choy, Chew, Megat, May Ling and Veronica. So, Dr. Wan promised to bring us together to see the carnival. This was a very good experience for me as a chance like this will not always I can get. I have saw some of the booth like Microbe In A Box from our Microbiology's seniors, I-Learn from UiTM (I'm an ex-UiTM student :D ) and an innovation about solat but I didn't remember from which university (I think it's from KUIS). After that, we have microbe's class on 3.00 pm. I was quite exhausted at that time and luckily Prof. Khaty ended the class early. We learned about gene expression for that class. The bad thing on that time was the weather was so bad. It's raining heavily and I was all wet when arrived at the college. Although it was like that, I'm satisfied with what I got today; new experience and new knowledges.

Friday 14 November 2014

Proud To Learn With The Dean ;D

11th November 2014

Today's class was a little bit different because Dr. Wan was not with us. We will be teaches by our faculty's dean, Datin Paduka Prof. Khatijah for four weeks and she will be teaching us Genetics topic. Yeayy !! I like this topic but it's hard for me actually. Hmmm.

So, let's talk about today's lesson with Prof. Khaty. She said that she has been stop give lecture for a long years. She tell us to bear with her as we might feel that her lecture is boring. Haha so cute and of course she is very kind. I think her way of teaching is just okay. Err, we still did not get the lecture notes so, I was a little bit lost at that time. But luckily this was the last topic (I think) that I learn during foundation. I can refreshed a bit about it as this is one of my favuorite topic. I hope I can learn well with Prof. Khaty since she has many experiences in this genetic field.

Sunday 9 November 2014

So Exciting !!!

Friday, 7th November 2014

Hi hi hi !! We meet again after almost a week hahaha. There was no microbiology class on last Tuesday. The Malaysian Nationhood class also has been cancelled. YAY!!I AM FREE FOR THE WHOLE DAY. Just wanna say this kekeke.

Me on that day.

But before our today's class begin, Dr. wan asked us to submit the mind map of viruses. So, here it is...

*zoom to read it.

In the class, guess what we did... We played games. So Exciting!!! But it was not only just games. We asked question about "The Structure Of Eukaryotes" in all of our games. I didn't take pictures that time but just by looking at this list of games, surely you know how happy we are.

1) Poison Box (Flagella, cilia & cytoplasm)
2) Role-play (Cell membrane)
3) Spin Your Ribosome (Ribosome)
4) Dart Quiz (Nucleus)
5) Jump Lysosome Jump (Lysosome)
6) Bingo (Vacoule)
7) Lucky Bottle(Smooth endoplasmic reticulum)
8) Wheel Decide (Rough endoplasmic reticulum)
9) Golgi Penalty (Golgi apparatus)
10) Quiz Oh Quiz (Mitochondria)

Dr. Wan said that we cannot refer to our notes during the game. But to be honest, I have cheated hihihi :D I downloaded the notes just before the class start so I didn't have time to read it. I also not really remember what I have learned during foundation. Well, the best solution to escape from the cruel punishments of the other groups is look at the notes. Sorry friends and sorry to myself also because of this bad attitude hmmm. Besides, I didn't really hear the questions asked and their answer, so that's why I kept looking the notes or otherwise I will just get back home with emptiness of knowledge. Err, nothing else to say I guess. Till then, bye.

Saturday 1 November 2014

CAN'T EXPECT WHAT WILL HAPPEN

31st October 2014

Say bye-bye to October because today is already it's last day. And say hi-hi to the upcoming November hahaha. What I want to say actually is time flew too fast. I still remember the day I registered in UPM in September but now, I have been here for 2 months. Pheww.

OK, let's just continue about today's lesson. Dr. Wan has reminded us many times to study about algae and fungi. She also told to bring our own devices, BYOD like she said in whatssap hehe. I thought she want to do some quiz for today so I try hard to read the notes at night.

During the lesson, Dr. Wan just taught us like usual. The things that I remember most about these two topics is the algae bloom and when she said that we have to just throw away the bread that has fungi on it. Why? It is because I think algae bloom is so beautiful but I never see this phenomena. The bread, hahaha I always do the opposite thing to what she said. It is such a wasteful to throw away the bread. Usually I or even my mother will just cut the defective parts.

After we finished each topic, Dr. Wan asked us to open the Putra LMS site. Hoho It's crossword puzzle. I like it but I don't remember the answer. I need to read a few times before I can really remember a lessons hmmph :( At first, I can access the website but suddenly what have I done in the puzzle disappear and I can't open the LMS anymore. Erghh so frustrated!!! Only when I went back to hostel I can send the tasks, luckily...

It Worth A Lot

Tuesday, 28th October 2014

The assignment that has made me stress but happy, "THANK A MICROBE"~

The Preparation

My group, Group 8 has decided to thank a microbe that beneficial in food. So, Alia, Azny, Aina, Raidah and I chose Lactobacillus plantarum as a microbe that we want to study. We almost change our microbe because we didn't find more of it's  application besides fermenting food. But, after searched in many websites, we also found out that this bacterium helps in digesting food in our intestine. Thus, we kept proceed our works.
We divided our jobs into two. Aina and Raidah has done the poster, while Azny, Alia and I has done the video. We used a video apps called PowToon as I suggested to them because it is really easy to use this apps. We only did both of our poster and video about 2 weeks. I feel like I cannot believe we managed to do this in short time, plus this is the very first exhibition that we involved.
All of our preparations went smoothly but when the d-day is coming, Dr. Wan told us that there are some mistakes in our poster which is we put the negative impacts of Lactobacillus plantarum. So, we have to find another applications of it. Luckily we found that it also helps stimulate our body to produce antibodies.
For the props, we just bought some of the products that has Lactobacillus plantarum in it such as yogurt and chocolate. We wrote a few questions and put them in a box. This is for quiz time. Our board was the most colorful one with balloons and sometime it looks like this exhibition is for kindergarten school hahaha.

The Exhibition Day

9 o'clock today, we supposed to gather at the faculty foyer to do our last preparation like attach the poster and set up the props. I was the one who kept the poster for our group and I was very shock when we open our poster. The poster has been changed! It was not our's! We were quite panicked that morning but we were so lucky that our poster was at the printing shop as told by the shop's owner when we called them. Fuhh...
We have to record a group video presenting our selected microbe. We done it without much preparation and practicing at all. Just go with the flow~ hihihi. After that we have our lunch and Dr. Wan also gave us some food. As example, amplang, peanuts and drinks.
2 0'clock, the exhibition started. For sooooooo long we have to waited the judges, maybe they have some works to settle first. Our judges, Dr. Chin Chin and Dr. Mas Jaffri didn't ask many question, maybe because it's already late and outside, it's raining heavily.
What make me impressed was a question from Dr. Jeff which we cannot answer, instead he was the one who explain to us. He told that Lactobacillus plantarum can help to stimulate producing of antibodies for a particular disease by insert the gene of the virus or bacteria in the Lactobacillus plantarum through genetic engineering. When we consume something that has that L.plantarum, our body can against the disease.
Once, I think genetic is very interesting, but after learned it during foundation, it's a quite hard topic and I don't want to take it during degree. Now, I am thinking again whether to learn it again or not. Let's just see later hehe.
Besides, I also knew about other microbes that my course-mates presenting like the one that Chew's group has chose which can treat cancer by shrinking the tumor and for Awin's group which the microbe can help reduce the pollution when oil spilled in sea water ( I guess, don't really remember)
I improved myself in communicating with English language, gain confidence in presenting to people, learned to work in teams and a lot more during this exhibition. It is totally worth for all of us to join this despite we are tired.

Our Happy Faces :D

Friday 17 October 2014

I Can't Hear You

Tuesday, 14th October 2014

How should I say this? Stress? Maybe. Why? Because firstly, I thought we are going to continue learning about protozoa but suddenly Dr. Wan asked to find our own notes about algae and fungi. If I can access internet in my room so it's okay, but I can't. I have to go to class early today and luckily the faculty's wifi was functioning well.

My Notes

The second thing that make me stress was SKP2101 test in the evening. I have read the notes but can't remember anything. It kept worrying me and also the all the rest. Dr. Wan also noticed that most of us have a worry faces. Pity Dr. Wan because she had to face the students who look like they do not interested in the lesson. Sorry Dr. Wan.

Besides, there's also a good news that made us very happy. We got no class for the next Friday! Assa, I can go home early. Hahaha But I think this happiness is not going to remain long. More assignments are waiting for us, right? Hmm. Ahha I remember something. We showed the poster that we have made to Dr. Wan and it's quite ok. Alhamdulillah.

These are all that happen today. Till we meet again. Byebye~

Sunday 12 October 2014

The Day Has Come !!!

Friday, 10th October 2014

The day has come. Test test test!!! I felt like I want to cry this morning because I still can't remember many things. "How I gonna take this test?" Plus, I didn't answer the quiz in edmodo yet. I couldn't access the internet using uspot and I also cannot renew my mobile data erghh how frustrating. Hmm about the test, it was so-so, not too difficult but not too easy and some were quite confusing. Err lets not talk about it, just wait and see the result later. We also have replacement class today :'( We discussed in groups on the best way to study Microbiology based on the next topic, protozoa. One more time, I did the mind map. Before, I never did mind map to study but now I felt that it was quite helpful for me to remember some lessons. I think this is all for today's diary. I couldn't write long since I'm borrowing my friend's laptop. See again next week :)

*Still got problem with both the wifi and my phone :'( :'( :'(

Gloomy Gloomy ~~~

Tuesday, 7th October 2014

"Ergh! Why I have class today?" This was phrase that I kept repeating in the morning. I felt like I still didn't get enough rest at home. The Eid Adha's holiday was too short even we couldn't taste the beef that has been slaughtered hmmph. In today's class, we continued the external structures of prokaryotes and also learned the new topic, the internal structures of prokaryotes. Then, we did some quizzes in socrotive.com another new account and put our adopted microbes' names in padlet.com. To be honest, today was a gloomy day until Dr. Wan brought out her rendang and nasi himpit. It's not much yet enough to make me feel happy and full hihihi. Thank you Dr. Wan!!! But this happiness will not going too long. We have test on this Friday. I hope I can do well and get a good mark so that I can continue smiling after this.

*I'm so sad that I could't do this diary properly. No internet access now :'(

Sunday 5 October 2014

Focus Is Not With Me

Friday, 3rd October 2014

Erghh I don't know what to write in this diary because I don't know what I learn today. All of us are going back home since Eid Adha is around the corner. Everyone are excited as well as me but I don't know how will I go back. I have planned with my sister to go back together but suddenly I have meeting with my new academic adviser and my sister also have to go somewhere to settle her work first. During today's class I kept messaging my sister to confirm either she want to pick me up or I have to go back by commuter. Hee sorry Dr. Wan :D Seriously, I can't remember much about today's lesson plus I don't bring my external structures of prokaryotes' note. Hee again, sorry Dr. Wan :D The only thing I want to highlight here is Dr. Wan asked a question to me, Azny and Alia and I have answered the question wrongly. Embarrassing hmmph. Next time, I'll just keep quiet when being ask in class hihihi.

Hari Raya Qurban is coming peeps! Yuhuuu~ As usual many things have to be done such as cooking and cleaning the house. I only have two siblings, so we are busy doing preparation for the hari raya. I think I have to submit this diary first and add the information I've learned next time. Lastly, as we are celebrating hari raya, I want to say sorry to Dr. Wan for what I've done wrong to you and also thank you for make me inspired and get interest to be in this microbiology field.

Friday 26 September 2014

TEST IS COMING !!!

Friday, 26th September 2014

The first thing that I remembered Dr. Wan has said is about our test on 10th October. Oh no!!! Just about two weeks from now.

Looks like I have to be serious on study. I want a great result as I have to prove that I have chose the right course to my parents who did not like me to be in microbiology field.  For today's class, I forgot to bring my External Structure of Procaryotes' notes because I only thought about the other notes which was the Internal Structure of Procaryotes. Just like you Dr. Wan hehehe. We learned about what written in the notes and I also got a few extra information from Dr. Wan.

NEW KNOWLEDGE

As this is already the third week I write this diary, I really feel microbiology is very interesting. I have read but not remember some new attractive information while writing this diary. Thank you Dr. Wan. This diary give me more so much benefits.

Wednesday 24 September 2014

When I feel sleepy... zzZZzzZZ

Tuesday, 23rd September 2014

I feel bored for the first hour in today's class. We learned about types of staining. Seriously I said, it's a boring topic. But, this topic is very important for our laboratory class. So, I have no choice but to listen, understand and remember all the types of stains and their uses. Here are my messy notes hahaha. *Lazy to type because I'm sleepy right now

 So messy~

The next one hour we are asked by Dr. Wan to do a group work which is a mind map on external structure of procaryotes. This is what my group has done. But the sad think is Dr. Wan said that our image is not clear and have to be convert into pdf form which we don't know how. Thanks to Abang Chew hihihi we managed to do that.

Before Friday's class, we have to submit another mind map but individually on topic internal structures of procaryotes. Hmmph Until now, I have done nothing. Erghh too many works and i'm quite pressure now :'(

HMMMPHHH :(

Monday, 22nd September 2014

Today's diary will be better than before. Why? Because I am jealous with the diary that Dr.Wan showed in class. This does not mean I want Dr. Wan to show my diary to everyone. I envy the diary's owner's effort to search more details and information about what we have learned. As this is the spirit that Dr. Wan want in everyone of us, I will try to have it in myself and make this diary as my kind of short notes.

Here it comes! As usual, before the class start once again I hear the word that I hate; ASSIGNMENT. There are a few changes on our project Adopt A Microbe. And know what, I have to do another assignment INDIVIDUALLY. I don't know what others feel but for me, I WANNA GO HOME NOW! Adopt A Microbe project has changed to Thank A Microbe, which will be more focusing on a microbe's application such as in food, environment, medical, agriculture and industry. Adopt A Microbe project still has to be done but individually I hate this and in a form of scrapbook.

ASSIGNMENT AND PROJECT DATELINE
  • Diary : Every Sunday before 11.59 pm
  • E-Portfolio : 21st December 2014
  • Decided microbe : 7th October 2014
  • Thank A Microbe : 18th October 2014
  • Adopt A Microbe : 9th December 2014
Fuhh! *Wipe forehead

Now, let's see what I have learned. Today's topics are History Of Microbiology and Microscopy.

HISTORY OF MICROBIOLOGY

  • Antonie Van Leeuwenhoek - handcrafted-microscope, the first to observed single-celled organism(animalcules)
  • Robert Hooke - Micrographia, study on thin slices of cork, coined "cell", Cell Theory(all living thins are composed of cells)
  • Spontaneous generation(life arise spontaneously from non-living matter) vs Biogenesis( living cells can only arise from preexisting living cells) - Louis Pasteur
  • Robert Korh - Koch's Postulate
  • Edward Jenner - coined the term "vaccination"

MICROSCOPY

Sunday 21 September 2014

ASSIGNMENT oh nooooo!!!

Friday, 19th September 2014

"Adopt A Microbe". A project that Dr. Wan explains to us. I feel like I don't want to hear about it. "It's too hard", this phrase keeps appear in my mind. I just write down what she says in my note book without any ideas how to do it. But, what attracts me about this assignment is the augmented reality video she showed us. Too lazy to search in you tube hehehe

What we have to do for the project. Hmmph

For today's lesson, we continue to learn on Introduction To Microbial World. Some of the things that I remember are :
- differences and similarities of procaryote and eucaryote

THE LESSON BEGINS !!!

Friday, 12th September 2014

Today is the second class of microbiology, which Dr. Wan has start to give lecture. But, before that she give us "To-do List" that contain things we should has for this subject. The things are SCL grouping, Google calendar, Edmodo, Padlet, Blendspace and Jing. But till now, I still didn't download the Jing. Hahaha Next, we learn about microbiology! There are a few things regarding today's class that I still remember. As example, benefits of microbes; digest food, pH treatment, as vaccine and for pharmaceutical drugs. Dr. Wan also mentioned about a fungus that produce penicillin (antibiotic). She wants us to ask the doctor in charge to write the name of antibiotic given to us in case we fall sick, so that there is something we can learn from it. Before class ends, Dr. Wan gives us 2-minutes-task where we have to write whatever we remember along the lesson in two minutes. Another one we do is "Muddiest Points". I don't know how to describe it. I just write that I am not familiar with all those microbes mentioned by her before hahaha. Actually, many new things we learned in this 2 hours class but, unfortunately my brain did not working well at that time. Hmmph So, this are the only things I remember. I hope I can get more knowledge in the next class.

MICROBIOLOGY~ A New World

Tuesday, 9th September 2014

Today is the first class of microbiology BMY3101. I feel quite excited huhu because this is the main subject in my course which is Bachelor in Science (Hons.) Microbiology. As the class started, one beautiful woman entered the class. She is our lecturer, Dr. Wan Zuhainis Saad. This is the 2nd time I met her after the course registration in the faculty during the orientation week. As what I have known, Dr. Wan is very energetic and have good skills in ICT. In this class only, she has introduced to us 1 website and 2 apps that can be useful throughout our studies which is padlet.com, evernote and powtoon. She also asked us to register in www.edmodo.com, a website that used by all of the students in UPM. Now, let's move to the most important part for today's class. ASSIGNMENT. I hate this. Not just one, but two assignment have been given by Dr. Wan. We have to make a video about ourself and why we chose microbiology for our degree. Then, we have to upload it in youtube hahaha. Besides, we have to write a diary for every single microbiology class. So, tradadadaa! This is the reason why I create this blog kihkihkih. Microbiology really has changed me into a new person. When I just entered this new world, i've done so many new things. Make a video, upload video in youtube, create a blog. If I didn't be in this class, i will never do all this things. I hope I can enjoy learning microbiology subject. Thanks to ALLAH for putting me in this interesting microbial world~

LOL when I watch this video.
